Saturdays are the best!

Me to self: "Hey Katie, what did you do on Saturday?"
Self to me: "Whaddya think I did? I went to Preston! Gosh! Freakin' idiot!"

Yes, I ventured on up to the home of "Napoleon Dynamite" last Saturday with the Thurber family. I had the day off, Alice has sadly never been to Idaho, and we all love Napoleon Dynamite so we decided to go on a little adventure. Addresses in hand, we drove around Preston, Idaho(in 80s garb, of course) and stopped at the famous sites from that famous movie. It was SO much fun! We all looked pretty sweet in our attire, but the residents there must be used to weirdos like us because we hardly got any good reactions for our appearances.

After our thrilling day in Preston, we drove back to Logan where we changed into new costumes to go to the demolition derby. We were all decked out in our white trash, redneck clothes and had a heck of a good time watching cars smash into each other... Rather than make this a super long post by putting up a million pictures, I decided to make a little slideshow/movie for it. I think they are so much fun to do and can be more enjoyable for others to see.... So without further adieu, I give you my latest project, "Saturdays are a Special Day!"

Ok.... After a million attempts at posting this with no luck, I have decided to give up putting it on my blog. Here's the link to the video on youtube. Sorry....

Family Vacation

A couple of weeks ago, I went to Colorado with my family for our first annual Bryner Family Vacation(we haven't all been on a vacation together since we were all youngish and single). We had SO much fun. We stayed in a 'hotelo' in Monticello(that's what my niece Emma called the hotel) the first night to break up the long drive a little. We also went to Mesa Verde. What a cool place! We stayed in this great house in Durango that fit all 16 of us without any problem(that's no small feat!) We pulled up to the house and it was ugly, for lack of a better word, and not at all how we remembered from the pictures we'd seen online, but the inside was gorgeous! I loved the layout, though it took awhile to not get lost trying to find your way around. I loved being able to see everyone and just being together with them. I can't wait to see where we go next year!

Here we are at the Monticello Temple
Mesa Verde
Waiting to go on our tour of Cliff Palace. We had a great tour guide that talked VERY slowly "so everyone would be able to understand her." We were relieved to finish that tour...
Cliff Palace
My Aunt Bonnie came with us and brought some Stampin Up stuff and we made cards. It was fun and my brother Clark even joined in on the fun... :)
Logan and Emma loved it when the uncles would swing them in their "hammock"(aka Logan's sleeping bag)
We celebrated Emma's third bday there and we had a bubble blowing party. We all had fun(I'm not lying, everyone got into it)
My Sis-in-law Lindsay is a photographer and she took some great shots of the birthday girl and Logan! I edited them a little and think they turned out fantastically! You rock Lindsay!

Can you tell these two are related?
Emma is so possessive of her things and it showed as she opened her presents. She had to be holding everything so Logan and Dane wouldn't take them. What a funny girl!
This is the beautiful house we stayed at. The inside was a million times better!
This picture shows Logan's personality 100%
The view of Telluride from the gondola that we rode one day while sight-seeing. I have a fear of heights so this ride was scary for me at first, but once I got over my fears, I had such a fun time. My niece and nephews LOVED this ride. Emma wanted to do it again. She would have ridden all day if we could have...
Dane! Could anyone have a cuter smile?

Fun with the girls

This past Wednesday, I drove down to Salt Lake with Alice and her girls. We went to Tamsin's house in Herriman and played with her and Emma for the day. The girls did dress ups and had a dance party and then we went to the Gateway where we ate lunch and played in the fountain. The girls(minus Chloe) had a lot of fun playing in the water and it was a hot day so it was a nice way to cool off. After we went to the Gateway we drove to South Towne Mall in Sandy and got ice cream, shopped around a little and let the girls do some more playing. It was such a nice, fun, relaxing day that none of us wanted to see end. If only life could be like that every day...

Next up: Emma comes to visit!

My adorable niece Emma came to visit us for a few days while her mom and dad went down to Arizona where my brother in law got a new job. We had SO much fun with her while she was here. We went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3D one day, went to a bday party for Meile Thurber another and just had a lot of fun in between. When Tamsin got home from Arizona she spent a few days here in Logan and we had some more fun. We went and saw Shrek 4 and did a lot of shopping(I bought way more things than I needed to). It was fun having Tamsin here and doing things with both her and Emma.

Flood of Posts: Starting with Eclipse

It has been quite a while since I have posted anything on here. To all you avid readers, I apologize for that. I have been busy failing my online spanish class I took this summer(literally. Guess that's what I get for taking a summer class when I know my brain does not want to think about school), and doing various other things so blogging just hasn't been my top priority.

Anyway, here I go with several posts about what's been going on in my life. First up, Eclipse. I went and saw it opening day with my mom and Alice Thurber. We had a lot of fun dressing up in our twilight shirts and playing the New Moon board game as we waited to go in the theater. It is the best of the movies so far! When it ended, I wanted it to just start into "Breaking Dawn". As you see from my background, I like Twilight just a little bit... :D Enjoy!

I had to put this in here because my mom never texts ANYONE!
