Random

I find that I have been at a loss lately when it comes to what I want to blog about. I spend my days working or job hunting so nothing really exciting has been going on in my life, and then as I was thinking, it hit me that this coming month and the next are full of things I love, so why not share those with you?

Firstly, the Super Bowl. Ok, not so much the game itself, but the party food (YUM!) and especially the commercials. Go Patriots!

Second, the Oscars. I absolutely LOVE the Oscars. I know they can be kind of boring, but everything about them excites me(the dresses, the silly monologues, the boring speeches, and especially seeing if any of my favorite movies from the previous year win an award). I was sad to see that Harry Potter was only nominated for 3 awards and that Best Picture wasn't one of them, but I guess a fans view of the movie and the acadamies view are two totally different things. So, I can just hope that they win something. ANYWAY, I am excited for this big night and am planning to throw a fancy-schmanzy oscars party that night.

Third, I am excited for this movie:

It combines my love for Daniel Radcliffe and scary movies; need I say more?

The thing I am most excited for though is this:

These books are probably my favorite after Harry Potter so naturally when I heard they were making movies for them, I was stoked. I've watched the trailer for it so many times, yet it never ceases to give me chills because of how amazing it looks. And if you haven't seen the trailer, here it is for you so you can see the awesomeness that is The Hunger Games.

On top of those bigger events, there are of course the usual things that happen in life to be excited about. Like going to church in my amazing ward(I love it and the people in it more and more each week and will be SO sad when I have to leave it), FHE activities with said amazing ward, hanging out with friends, and spending time with family. I have also decided that I am excited for the unknown that is my future. I honestly have no idea when I might find a job or where that job might take me(DC please!), but I am ready for it. Bring it!

A Whirlwind Christmas

This Christmas was such a good one. Full of family and lots of fun! I will try to keep this post short so as to not lose your interest in it. This year everyone in my family was able to come for the holidays so we had a full house and I loved it! We started out our time together with a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus. The kids were so excited to see them.
Christmas Eve at our house was as usual very eventful and full of laughs as we put on the annual nativity(complete with a cross-dressing Mary). Christmas Eve by far is my favorite part of Christmas and I was so glad to be able to spend it with family.
Christmas morning was full of fun for my little nephews as they ripped open their presents and played with them all morning until we went to church (which was only one hour. That was so nice) and then we came home and the grown-ups got to open their presents. Christmas was a very relaxing, much needed day to be with family and do nothing. The big surprise this year was one us kids gave to our parents. We flew in my sister Tamsin and niece Emma from Virginia to spend Christmas with us all. My parents were completely surprised by our gift and loved it.
One of the other presents this year that we got was Just Dance 3 and it was a hit with everyone(yes, we even got my dad to dance. It was a Christmas Miracle). As you can see, we all really got into it. If you are looking for something fun to do and want to get some exercise at the same time, I highly recommend playing this.Since I finished school this semester and there is no winter graduation, I came up with the idea of having a mockuation at home. I was just planning on having someone present me with a diploma but my sweet family came up with a program that included a commencement speaker and everything, so I got the benefit of being involved in a graduation ceremony without it being long or boring. After the mockuation we went out to dinner to celebrate. Thank you everyone for your love and support!
One of the days everyone was here, a few of us went to the hot springs and did a little swimming. We had a blast playing basketball and just relaxing in the hot pools.
The best part of having family here was being able to play with my adorable nieces and nephews. They each have their very own individual personalities that I love. You can see said personalities in the pictures below.
Here are some random pictures from the holidays. It was a blast spending time with family and I was so sad to see them go home. Thanks everyone for helping make this Christmas a great one! I hope you all have a Happy New Year!
